In another thread rotating tires was questioned. The consensus was that not rotating the tires and uneven wear can indicate a problem.

Most of the winter the TT was at the dealer having the springs/waterline fight with the warranty company. Having that problem repaired required the tire to be removed. (Tire wear would have been noticed)

Fast forward, this weekend after inspecting the TT, it was noticed that the two rear tires of the TT are very worn on the inside, (almost bald). This had to happen recently. The front tires of the TT are fine.

What would cause this wear only on the back tires in such a short period (and mileage) timeframe?

Another comment, when driving behind the TT on the beach, it looked like smoke was coming from the TT. I was told it was the sand kicking up. It did happen again on the pavement, but not consistent with braking, or regular driving. Could this be related?

From the picture posted of your trailer, I can see that the axles are centered on the trailer. This can be good for maneuvering, but very bad for tire mileage. The trailer has a side to side motion if there is any wind. It may not be very noticeable, but the motion will wear out tires in one or two seasons of use. You need to check often for cords showing through or bulges forming, especially on the inside of tire. My Award Classic 30 had the same problem. Slowing down to 55 mph can help the problem. The back axle will get more wear from scuffing than the forward axle.

Sounds like a bent axle causing misalignment.

IMO go to a SEMI truck alignment shop and get it checked. If out, they can usually fix it. Note car alignment places usually have no clue.

I had a similar problem with my rear trailer tires except my tires were balding on the outside 2-inches. By ignoring the obvious problem, I ended up burning up (disintegrating) a bearing on the rear axle. In the process I also ruined the hub and nearly burned up the associated tire. It turned out to be a bent axle. I strongly suggest you get your axle(s) checked ASAP.

I want to leave this earth quietly in my sleep like my grandfather and not like the hysterical, screaming passengers riding in granddad's RV just before the big crash.

Thanks we are going to check with the dealership. When the TT was in at the dealer (all winter ) the axles and springs were suppose to be replaced under a warranty issue.

Update:

Thanks again for the advise. According to the dealer, the springs, etc were replaced, (tires obviously not). We have replaced the worn tires, rotated them and will keep a keen eye on them and how they wear.

I appreciate the comments.

Hopefully they got it fixed, but I wouldn't count on it. Make sure you keep all the paperwork from any previous service work on this issue.
