Currently, have no anti-sway bar. Have mulled over it a few times on getting one.
This past weekend, coming home was a nightmare with Truck Suck and windy conditions.
Was going slow (due to lots of rain) (around 90Km/hr) and everyone was passing me (even the trailers!). Yes, I was saving gas, but when a rig passes me, it was hard to keep it on the road due to trailer sway.

My question...

What is the best anti-sway bar and is it worth it for me to alleviate truck suck?

Just wondering.....

With a trailer of that length I would imagine you would be just fine with a standard friction sway bar. $50 out the door. If you are feeling the sway then it is not only justified, it is imperative. In addition, make sure you are not overloading the back of the trailer to take weight off the tongue. Sway begins when you do not have enough tongue weight.

Yes, I can see that may have been part of my problem, I threw my son's bike in the door before leaving (it was raining and I was tired..) and it's heavy to it may have adjusted the weight distribution for that.

Thanks for the advice, think I'll have to get the Anti-Sway bar.

Do you have a WD hitch if not you need one along with a minimum of a friction sway control. an Explorer Sport is the 2 door Explorer which has a very short wheelbase.

In addition to the other comments I'd like to point out that you stated you were going slow. Without getting into the whole aerodynamic reasons the bottom line is the greater the speed difference is between the approaching vehicle and you the more push-pull is generated. Whenever towing check your rear view as often as possible. When a truck or vehicle towing a trailer approaches do two things. Speed up slightly to decrease the speed difference and move away from them as far as possible. This will minimize the push-pull action created by the compression and decompression of the air front.

Get a sway bar but, your always going to get a vacuum when a big rig is flying by you and you'll feel it. Just be prepared.

Yes, I have a WD hitch, I had it on 4 links from the bottom, was also the first time I tried that (usually have it on 3 links), seemed like the trailer "hopped" a little more, not sure why that was really.

I have an appt with the dealer to install an Anti-Sway bar, they agree that it's a good option for me.

This is true, and a fact of life. but it shouldn't be so bad as to scare you. It truly sounds like you need to redo your hitch, and, or put more weight on the tongue.
As I have always said. If you have sway. Fix it. then put on sway control.

BTW. The insructions with your friction type sway bar will tell you to disable it in wet and slick conditions.
