We just got back yesterday from our father and sons trip we took over the weekend. I have to admit, we stayed at the State campground in Grand Isle Vermont and we had a blast.
When we took off on Friday afternoon we were leaving on time but things changed in a hurry. I noticed that my refrigerator wasn't working on gas and one of my tanks were empty. I had them filled in the spring, tested everything which was all working then, and we haven't gone out at all. I then did realize I had used my furnace during the cold snap and I am hoping that is why it emptied out. Anyways I took it back to our dealer and they bent over backwards to help me out and get us going. Thanks again M's RV. Our pc board went on our camper and they fixed it. Got to the campsite, set up and probably spent the best weekend yet with my boys. Lots and lots of fishing and some places we went they were biting. My best friend went with his son and and we had a blast.
We had so much fun I plan on doing this again soon.
Thanks for listening,
Greg from Vermont

It is amazing how years from now your kids will remember this experience. Keep doing it and you will have wonderful kids that will know the meaning of life far better than others. Time spent with out children is an investment on the future. It really does not take a village to raise our kids, just two dedicated parents!

This thread has inspired me. I was about to head off to the office later in the morning today for a staff meeting (often do the email stuff before I leave the house) when my son came in as I was about to shut down my computer and head out the door.

He has been asking about doing more things with me and letting his twin sister stay with mom so I asked him would he like to help me get the tire pressures tweak and wheel covers washed and reinstalled and then we would go eat, run by the company for about 30 minutes and take him to his karate class and just spend the rest of the day together.

He got so excited being out all day with it being just the two of us running around in the MH. Today was a great day. He loves riding shotgun.

Greg,

We camped one weekend a month year around in Omaha, Nebraska in Boy Scouts, regardless of the weather. Winter or Summer. They were fun, but the most fun was family camping in our 9'X18' Sears tent in Northern Minnesota the last week of August from 1960 thru 1966. We pulled our 14' runabout with an 18HP Johnson outboard behind the family station wagon. We would troll in this boat and water-ski behind. It was wonderful to spend this time with Dad and Mom. Coleman lantern, Coleman stove -- 2 burner, and Coleman water jug, and a huge cooler we'd keep dry-ice containers in.

Thanks for the story!

I have a sweet tender nature, however I enjoy sharing my thoughts and opinions.

I hope my dad does that with me sometime soon! Sounds like a blast, and it is wonderful you take your guys to do that kind of stuff!
