Good deal!
Genie OEM is a t-105 but Genie also adds an oil to the cells that helps the battery keep from going dry. You should get years of service out of them. You scored!

...Genie also adds an oil to the cells that helps the battery keep from going dry...

What are the specifics on the oil and who else out there adds an additive to batteries?

Not sure. But I received a newsletter from Genie some time ago stating that they use this stuff in every battery that leaves the factory.

I have not purchased any yet. But in the rental business I see what holds up too abuse. The batteries in Genie electric lifts tend to hold up better than anything else I have seen so far.

Thanks Tex, I would be interested to get a few bottles and at the next time I need to add water, add that to one on my battery banks and fill the other bank with distilled water as I always have. I already have several years of good service from my current set-up and would be interesting to see how it worked for the next couple of years.

Just buy a small bottle of MINERAL OIL from a drugstore. Half teaspoon in each cell. Works great. Floats on the electrolyte & makes a barrier against evaporation.

On the smaller lifts (19', 20', 26' electrics) they use the T-105
On bigger lifts (electric booms and some 26'& 32'scissors) they use the J-250.

I don't own any Skyjacks or JLGs. But I think Skyjack uses Trojan batteries. I am mostly buying Genie & Snorkels right now.

The spec on 6-volt batteries in aerial equipment will be the same. The battery is used as counterweight so if the battery is an approved OEM replacement you are getting the better battery. Some manufacturers make a golf cart battery(ie Exide E-3600). This battery is the same in every way but is 1/2" shorter in height and weighs about 10# less. Although a good battery it will have a bit lower amp hr rating (186amp Hr). The batteries found in AWP will have an amp hr rating of 220 or better.

If you have a Batteries Plus near you, they carry a monster 12v battery that has a ridiculous amount of amp hours...I wasn't smart enough to write the model number down, and their website is less than user-friendly, but the amp hours were significantly higher than two T-105's which I've used for years.
Would be worth a trip to their store if you have one near.
