Yea, I'd seen my share of "Newells" in campgrounds. Talked to the owners also. They still have the same problems with their coaches as we ordinary people have. They just cost more to FIX. Like I hate when the under the floor Stainless steel grill needs cleaning! Nice coaches although.

There is a user group at newellclassic.com. Great group of DIY guys and gals. Friendly, hands on, and not snooty at all. The Newell owners seem to be in two groups. One, the ultra rich who can afford million dollar rigs. Obviously, they have "people" who take care of their toys. Two, the hard core gear heads, who work on their own stuff. They bought Newells because of the solidly engineered platform.

OK, I have read all with great interest. Had two friends with Newells back in the 80s. Great coaches. I have wanted a newer Foretravel now for some time. I am surprised to see the foretravel owners who would switch to a Newell. I want a coach with at least two living room slides andone bedroom slide or the quad. I like Foretravels quality and of course Newell's. To get a coach like I want , I am looking at something only two or three yrs old. To do so I would spend way more on the Newell. Foretravel's factory is only3 hours away from my home. I will continue to look for the right deal on a Foretravel but if the Newell comes along that fits then there you go. I guess you really can't go wrong between the Newell or the Foretravel but for now my Monaco Camelot will have to do. If I were to mount them trophies like one poster said, I would lose the Camelot too.

Ok, I just registered to reply to this post. I had been a rver in the of the towable type. When I got close to semi-retirement, whatever that means, I started investigating buying or converting my own bus to RV. I went around to many RV sales offices to look for ideas. A Prevost dealer sent me to a local specialty coach sales office. There I found a 1986 Newell that I just had to have. That was 10 years ago and I still have it. Spent 15 months in it to finish my career and then moved to the lake. I have never regretted the purchase. I did put it for sle once since it was going to be some time before I could use it again and my better half put and end to that.

The quality is unsurpassed. I have had great response to my questions posed to Newell customer service. They have always been very helpful.

Doug
