Great question! I was just thinking of asking the same thing.
I don't own a Doubletree but will tour their plant tomorrow at 10:00am. I also am looking at the Select Suites and inspected a 09 @ International RV in Elkhart yesterday. The other unit that I'm considering that you may want to look at is KZ Escalade. (Toured their plant a few hours ago) I'm in the research stage as I can't really do anything until next spring. Might end up just keeping my 04 Newmar the way prices of things are getting. I'll be real interested in the response of Doubletree owners. Randy

Well I have a Mobile Suites and it is very similar to the Select. The Select is somewhat lighter in weight but does have most of the same qualities. I have owned my DT product for little over a year and have only has a electric hydraulic brake actuator melt down which was part of a recall. The dealer replaced unit and have had no further problems. DT Products have one of the best insulation packages in the business. I would highly recommend their product if you can pull it and afford it. You will have to look very hard to find anything else that will compete with it without spending lots more money. Before I traded my Class A MH in on my Suites I looked long and hard at all brands before making my decision. I have not regretted my purchase.

Count me as a very happy owner, bought new in 2004 and when the time comes for a new rig, Double Tree will be right on the top of the list.

In Jan 2006 when we went to an RV Show, we saw our first DoubleTree's. The E.Coast salesman said they were coming out with a new line the Select for the 1/2 ton TV, but at the time they didn't have a brochure for us.

Didn't matter, we decided that the Elite Suite also new for 2006 was exactly what we wanted.

I'm obsessive-compulsive, and did tons of research before we bought our latest fifth-wheel, Teton and Mobile-Suites were neck and neckon build quality, insulation, four-seasons living etc.
Went with Teton for the outside storage, but don't think you could possibly go wrong with the MS.

We like you did a lot of research including over a dozen factory tours. But when we saw the DoubleTree factory and the Mobile Suite we were sold. We couldn't go full timing for 4 years but we visited the factory each year. Keeping up on revisions and updating. Last spring we ordered and have been full timing since. This has been a very livable unit. With the double pain windows and the extra insulation. We ordered with the heavy duty suspension and have not been sorry. There have been a few minor issues but the factory and dealers have been great. We've no complaints. the factory an the dealers have been great to work with. We've met a number of DoubleTree owners along the way in the last year and for the most part they are more than pleased with their unit.

Today's Doubletree tour impression was OH WOW, HOLY COW --CUBS WIN !! type of experience. Tour was guided by Dan Tower who is a Vice President of the company and he took more than 2.5 hours answering questions and showing all features to DW & I as well as a couple from Nebraska. The 5 of us went all over the plant and really got into the nuts and bolts of the detail differences between the Select and Mobile suites. Everything from suspension upgrades to fabrics and frames were covered. Type of experience that makes you so excited that you took vacation time to do the research. Any one interested in a gently used Kountry Star that I say with a smile as it is against forum policy to advertise. Randy
