Based on the information we have the majority of Provincial Parks, Campgrounds, tourist attractions are very apt to be closed..Check out the various web sites for the specific closure dates. www.novascotiaparks.ca

ikejan. Agree with delrob. This is when we prefer to go to The Maritimes, however, Spence is correct, at least as far as Provincial Parks are concerned. The biggest attraction, the scenery, is open year round.

Yes, many RV parks / campgrounds might be closed. Many close right after Labor Day... some at the end of September & most of the rest by the 10th of October.

Suggest you do PEI first & then NS as the former's facilities tend to close earlier.

We did the trip around this time in 2006 & headed to PEI first, followed by Cape Breton that the rest of NS followed by NB.

EH!

great time to visit...just need to do a little extra work to make sure something is open in the area you want to get to. their visitor's invormation centers will be very helpful knowing what is and isn't available.

Had planned a trip to NS this summer but was delayed due to family emergency. Some friends just returned and loved it. Said the only bad thing was the horrendous toll for getting off of PEI. Did I hear right when they said $41.00? Pity the natives that make the trip to the mainland on a regular basis. Wonder what a truck and trailer would cost? Still hoping to go this fall to NB, NS and maybe down to Quebec. Drive safe.........

Last summer we took the ferry over to PEI (no charge) and the bridge back to the main land. Cost for us driving a 34 foot MH and towing a car was $56.00, whereas if we took the ferry back it would have cost us $110.00. Have a good summer...

At least there is a bridge to PEI. I signed up for an Elderhostel course on Newfoundland island before I checked how to get there. Ferries only, and as near as i can figure it is going to cost me $281 Canadian each way for trailer and tow vehicle, plus $32.88 ea ch way for me the driver.
