Somebody put the word out that CO has a $1 gal surcharge on gas and diesel fuel, especially everywhere west of Denver. That's makes diesel up close to $6 a gal. Too tough for me.

That's more than enough to keep the flatlanders and everyone else, out.

Yeah, but this only applies to out-of-state license plates, right? Think we'll try this in Utah. Along with the difficulty in getting a proper adult beverage, it'll keep everybody out.

If Colorado managed to give us a good tail wind across the plains, I might try it again

Yea, but that will only do so good until you hit the Foothills... (right where the $6 gallon starts (LOL)

We try to get to Colorado about 3-4 weeks throughout the summer. My Retina tore, and cannot change elevation so guess our first week will be spent in Amarillo, at one of their nice RV parks, and only 120 miles from home. If the eye does OK we still want to make it to Fun Valley my South Fork. Thought we might stay a week, come home and check on the farm, and then go back for one more week. Thus is they we would allow us we would leave the trailer in a storage area, and only pull it once. With the 120 gallons of fuel we carry we could probably get back to Texas without buying any fuel. What's this about 6.00 fuel in Colorado. I can't believe that. I would think that would kill their RV business. It's cool in Colorado, but their are still a lot of things I would like to do in Texas, and Oklahoma.

We are having a great time here in Montrose. Into our second week of Jeeping the Ouray area trails. Not many off roaders here yet, the trails are somewhat lonely at times. Lots of snow in places but many trails are open. The campground where we are staying is about half full. Last year it was full at this time. It cost me about $250 more this year for fuel to get here from Florida than it did last year. Part of that cost is I towed my Jeep and the resulting lower fuel mileage this summer.

I havent heard of any $6 gas in Colorado. In Leadville last weekend, it was $4.09 for unleaded, which is only .20 higher than Denver where I filled up today, at $3.89. Most Denver area stations are at about $3.95 or higher for unleaded today.

Yeah - just some local jokers that want their home areas to themselves. Montrose today - $4.09. Gunnison about the same. Silverton yesterday - 4.29.
Come on in - we need your $$.
REd Ram - are the USFS cgs around the reservoir open yet??
