I've gotta save the first weekend in May 2009 for Chincoteague. My 82 yo dad is already planning next year's flounder fishing weekend!

Hmmm, does Dad need a fishing buddy? I haven't gone for fluke or flounder in decades. And Chincoteague would give me an excuse to buy a generator... hehehe

Cheers!

Similarly, I would like to consider a 'formal' weekend at Killens if/when the skeeters are not hungry. I am prime beef when it comes to those buggers (no pun intended). I'd have to walk around in a head-to-toe net for sure.

I agree, however, it wasn't the skeeters, but chiggers! Steph and I got bit everytime we were in the field! I sprayed OFF after the first day, but she apparently didn't listen to me. . . .sheesh. . . .children, no matter how old they are, they never listen, do they?

Is that what got me?? Chiggers??? What are they? All I know is that my feet(I think they got into my socks)are bitten up! Including my legs and some on my thunder thighs.

I cant believe you got bit so bad. The two of you must be very 'sweet' I have 4 bites on my leg and Frank has one on his arm. Lucy had two. I have to admit we do spray and Frank and I wore sneakers the whole weekend. I hate bites so I feel bad for you- ouch!!

Turtle2468 - Anyone that wants to come, is welcome! Good times, good friends, that's what it's all about

Chiggers? THAT explains a LOT! I wore flip flops most of the weekend, but had tennis shoes on while we were in the field, albeit without socks. My feet and ankles got eaten up so badly, it's been a rough week, putting on shoes and socks, then waitressing every night for 6 or 7 hours I've gone though almost an entire bottle of After-bite, and a tube of cortisone, and the tootsies are STILL itching like mad! I've got bites on the tops, sides and even along the arch of both feet, not to mention toes, and in between them, and ankles Next year, I'm wearing jeans and KNEE socks! LOL! Won't that be stylish? LOL!

Chiggers huh? You might want to read this article. It tells you how to treat them to stop the intense itching. Man I feel sorry for you guys that were eaten. Those guys are no fun!!!!

I wouldn't doubt it! They say chiggers like to get UNDER the tight fitting areas....such as socks and waistbands. I got 2 bits on the top of my right foot near the ankle that I've been nursing (from the darned itch!) since Pt Lookout a week and a half ago! The skeeter bites are already gone!
