I've had it with air mattresses and am thinking about investing in a cot, but everything I've seen is build for one and I'm partial to sleeping with my sweetie. Does anyone know where I could get a cot for two people? Do they even make them?
Thanks!

This Double Cot is advertised for two people. But if you are used to sleeping on a Queen or King bed at home it may feel snug.

I've never seen a two-person cot. That Tentcot posted above is meant to replace a tent. And it has a bar that runs down the center length of the cot. That would put quite a damper on extra-curricular activities.

But, Cabela's makes a two person air bed/cot.Link.

If your Newly weds, I don't think that tent cot will make it. LOL, this air mattress thing seems do-able for and older person like me. Bill

I've seen the air bed/cot before, but I'm trying to stay away from inflatables all together. Seems like every year I buy a new air mattress and every year it springs a leak. Maybe I can whip something up in the workshop. Thanks for your help!

I have been curious about those air mattress beds. Does anyone actually have one?

Have you tried Thermarest self-inflating mattresses? My husband and I use them, and I bought the little "coupler" strap that keeps them together. It's nothing more than a vinyl strap that keeps them snugged up against each other, but it does the trick. Then I zip two sleeping bags together as one. Works for us.

But there's also no hanky panky going on because our kids are in the same tent with us. And they're a little too young for that life's lesson.

In response to does anyone have one of those airbeds:

We do. We had about three of them before purchasing our Aerobed brand. We have had it for several years now and it doesn't leak..maybe a LITTLE bit, but nothing like the others we have had where we had back aches and our feet up in the air!

Just got back from a camping trip and our friends bought the newer raised style. They did add air every night. We slept on the raised style at someones house and didn't care for it, but perhaps it needed more air. It felt wobbly. They will be returning and giving it another go since they loved not being on the ground.

We know several people that use the ones on the ground like we have and love them. We all swear by this brand. I have found that I need to use a mattress pad or foam on it or I feel like there is condensation...even though it isn't visible. Regardless, I wouldn't camp without one. We sleep great on it.

I have a Twin sized airmatress I use sometimes with my three-man dome tent - makes a VERY comfy set-up for one XXL-size guy!

My first one did begin leaking, but because I made the mistake of snoozing with my belt on once. Big mistake!
My second one has lasted well. It will soften a bit over a long weekend, but the battery-powered air pump firms it up again. The flocking on top really works! You WILL NOT slide off! Makes turning over at night a bit more difficult - gotta lift myself up then roll over.
Even if the tent leaks or has condensation problems, I'm well above the ground.

With my weight, it's hard to find a cot that I feel safe with. I'd also need a lot bigger tent!
