We got about 32% off the MSRP last year so I would think the market today would at least support that and possibly a little more if a dealer needs to move the unit you are looking at.

The problem is that most RV manufacturers do not give out their real MSRP, so the dealers make up anything they want.
How many times have we read on this forum of folks being given different "MSRPs" at different dealers for the exact same unit?
Don't get hung-up on getting a certain amount off "MSRP" or you may get screwed by paying too much thinking that you got 50-60% off some unit that was marked up to a fare-thee-well. Find the unit you want an compare bottom line prices and forget the percentage chase.
If you do find a manufacturer that does post their MSRP on their website, then you can figure out the true discount and you will find out it is no where near as much as some folks think. 20% is good, 25% is great (even more may be doable in this market).
Good luck.

WE had real good luck finding the manufacturers MSRP on line for every unit we looked at. In December 2007 a short 6 months ago I paid 63% of MSRP or discounted 37%. I would not blink at starting at 40% off of MSRP and make them come down. If they don't want to deal make it clear that you are buying a new trailer and they are not the only dealer in the world and for the difference you will keep shopping. I bet you will get them down between 30 and 38% off MSRP.

Yep I agree
I see many USED Rvs parked at storage places with 4 sale signs on them...
But I rather buy something NEW.
I can wait,I think in the next month or 2,we will get a great deal on anything.
Nobodys buying anything, economy sucks.Yep we will be able to get a deal

Country Rose,
I looked all over the Heartland/Bighorn website and I couldn't find MSRP's. Where did you find them?

Well, while we are talking about good deals, don't forget www.couchsrvnation.com they usually are a tad cheaper than RVW and they have many happy customers on this forum
And as far as the MSRP battle goes, I gave up on that long ago, just look for the BOTTOM line dollar, as many MSRP's vary dealer to dealer.

This does not make sense for one reason to me. If you order one you are going to be expected to pay for what you order and this is typically going to be more than what you will pay for one on the lot. Most dealerships are going to want to sell whats on the lot before anything else for various reasons, the gas prices primarily. Ordering often makes sense, but not right now I dont believe.

I got the MSRP through several Internet dealers, they all gave me the same MSRP so I felt comfortable with those numbers.
