I don't know anything about this park, but I'm surprised the previous ownership didn't put a (common) clause in the sales contract with language stating something like the new owners assume all liabilities and obligations. If he didn't, then the new owners can do as they wish, but it seems the old ownership may have opened themselves up to legal action. Now if the park was sold under a bankrupcy order, then that is a different matter.

I also note that this park is on leased land, so potentially none of these memberships will have any value at the end of the lease and any right to extend clause contain within the lease.

It was bought from a bankruptsy court, as Shawn had already filed. What was in the Bankrupt agreement I don't know.

I have heard that if they call it dues, we are right.
If they call it maintanence fees, they can do it.

The new owners have said in some letters to members that they have purchased the property there.

I called Banjo Creek today and asked about a letter that has been sent out to those who have memberships under Banjo Creek. These members now DO NOT have to pay their dues/ maint. fees....Those of us who had previous Zooland memberships with NO DUES clauses are not exempt from not paying these fees. We are still required to do so. Now if you think this is fair, I would like to talk to you.
Maybe now I can see why those members changed their feelings about paying this when at first they were so upset over it. What a rip-off for those of us who have been so loyal to this campground for so long.

All members who will be at BC this weekend and are old Zooland members, please PM or e-mail me.

I am still trying to make sense of this and I cannot do it.
If I do not pay, I am out and they do not get any of my money for fees and they do not get any money from purchases made while there at the CG facilities.
If they do not make me pay these fees, I still spend my money when I am staying there and I bring in friends who pay to stay there and who might become members there too.
Except for greed, I cannot see their point in all of this. Do they benefit in any way if I drop out and lose my membership ?

Ok ok, I have been out in the pasture, but I think it is time to get in the barn. I too was at the meeting when Mike told everyone that, "NOTHING" will EVER change with previous memberships or dues."

I know times have changed, but when i was growing up, my Dad always told me that "a man is only as good as his word". I have always tried to live by this, and I will always feel that "a person's word" is very important. How can u trust anyone that says one thing and does another?

My family has always enjoyed Zooland which is now Banjo Creek and we hope to enjoy it for many years to come. We have volunteered many hours on "clean up days" and other projects, and will continue to do so as long as we are treated fairly, but this is one time that our family feels like that we, as well as other loyal Zooland and BC members are getting the shaft .

Oh yeah, all of the above is JMHO (just my honest opinion)---for whatever that is worth. and now my wife is wondering if old older members will be treated like "red-headed step children.
