There is still time, come to McAlester OK, stay at one of the many CG's (waterfront is open), launch the boat, and stay in the water, 95+ degrees outside the water but that is OK. No traffic, deer all over, turkey too. Great fishing just most folks can't take the heat, I kind of like it. Some folks just not too many, lotsa fish, wood aplenty, and full service. Life is good.

You would absolutely love Mackinac City here in MI! They have our favorite outdoor water park - very clean and well managed. We've never been there when the lines are long. I'm sure they have a website - it's called Thunder Bay. The historic fort is very interesting - the kids loved seeing the canon shot off out into the big Lake and being a guest at the reainactment of a period wedding. Mackinac City has lots of great shops as well. A trip to the island is a must (watch Christopher Reeve's "Somewhere in Time" first). You'll take a ferry which is fun in itself. Ride rented bikes around the island or take a horse and buggy tour. The fudge is yummy and you can watch it being made at several shops. As far as campgrounds, Wilderness State Park is our favorite, but may be difficult to get into at late notice. There's also Straits State Park across the bridge at St. Ignace or a great private campground is Mackinac Mill Creek. You and your whole family will love Mackinac City. It's our favorite lower penninsula place to camp!

That's what I heard on the news. I thought Indiana Beach was on Lake Michigan? I know there have been riptide issues at other areas along Lake Michigan.

You're right. I think the news should have phrased it as "Body of Missing Boy Found on an Indiana Beach"
