It has done this pretty much every year and I was tired of putting money into it.
Load up and head to town. I had already picked out the one I wanted online at sears but stopped else where first. Exact some fridge with a dent in the side for 200 less. It goes in a hole, so the dent will never be seen.
I got it home, plugged it in, hooked up the water. Now I went to push it in. Guess what, too big. Never thought about pulling a tape measure.
Got out the skill saw, hammer, and screw gun. Had to move cabinet doors up and saw some trim down but it fits perfectly now.
Sure am glad it wasn't any bigger. There wasn't anything left to saw on top.
So, if your fridge quites, pull a tape first.
Nothing a couple beers can't handle.

People tend to need bigger and bigger refrigerators. Especially now when transportation is getting really expensive you might need that extra fridge capacity.
You'll be happy you made the error.

That sounds familiar. We had the same situation 3 months ago. I called my son (he's a cabinet maker / contracter) and let him do it.
RETIRED AND LOVIN IT. Wife Joyce three excellent grandkids and a grumpy ol tomcat

Does the fridge still have adequate ventilation?

I'm sorry but I don't understand the whole idea of adequate ventilation or proper size for the opening or any of that. You left out the important information!
How much beer can it hold? Proper ratio of bottles to cans? Multilevel cooling units to hold the imports a little warmer then the domestics?
Give us the facts man!
On the way there, to do that and buy the tee shirt!

Yes, it was mostly trim work that came out to fit the smaller fridge.
Yes, this one has even more room for beer, but I usually keep my beer in the tt's fridge.
