I don't remember hearing any sounds for the three years I owned my old, 2005 5er, but it was much lighter in weight.
My new 5er makes the snap, crack & pop noise when lifted or lowered on the on to the hitch.
Is this normal for a semi heavy 5er?
Thanks,
Fate

Fate,
You will have to locate the source. You or someone else is going to have to get their ear close to the sound. Its just to broad of a brush to ask is it normal.

Thanks John, the sound comes from the bedroom floor frame area. I'm going to start paying closer attention to it.
Thanks

I had about the same problem with my MH after about 40K miles. The sound was coming from the duel wheel area. So one day I decided to find the noise problem... I pulled my dual wheels off, then the wheel well covering. Right behind the wheel covering between the upper floor and lower floor was a sheet metal brace, it had a fatigue crack about 5 inches long causing the brace to give off a waffling sound. I drilled out the end of the crack, and reinforced it with a sheet metal brace and walla no more noise. BTW, I pop riveted the brace in place instead of welding, ( I was scared of a fire problem).

Go onto the toyhauler section of the forum. There was a particular brand of toyhauler using Lippert frames that had cracking problems behind the pin box area and under the floor of the bedroom. One symptom was the cabinets in the bedroom were tweaked and didn't line up right. If your trailer uses a Lippert frame, it could be related.

That's pretty standard on the Cameo's. Nothing is breaking it's just the weight shifting. I asked about the same on the Carriage site and that's how I found out how common it is.

Ours (Everest) does the same....not enough to cause concern but enough to let you know the weight is shifting.

Lippert frame?
Snap crackle and pop?
Tell me it isn't so?
We had our 5er's suspension collapse in Rapid City last year due to their gosh darn gee whillikers awesome welding practices! If you want proof just PM me and I can give you plenty of photographic proof.
Oh and we also had to have some reconstructive surgery done to the frame around the bedroom slide as well when the spot welds that Thor put in busted and started seperating the outside wall.
It kills me that we pay so much for these rolling homes and after a few years they start breaking down after the warranties run out and the manufacturer tells you politley to go for a long swim, and then you find out "oh the manufacturer knowingly employed sub-standard practices during the build process.
Okay, I will hop off my soap-box......carry on...........

Amen brother - they are terrible at QC, all of them - mostly becuase they are assemblies not fabricated parts they use to build a coach. They have little to no control over the components they use..
