What's a guy to do? We're shopping for a trailer and, at 6'5" and 255, the average RV toilet feels like trying to perch on a coffee can inside a Chinese phone booth.
I've been to Walmart, so I know I'm not the only one in this situation
What's the solution?

Replace the toliet. Its all a mass of pipes you can put whatever you want in there so long as you don't mind dumping often if you have a smallish tank.

I had the same issues. some of the rigswe looked at could barely get into the toilet room and some forget shutting the door. I found my Cherokee 295B which we bought and also looked at a Wildcat and both have a lot of room around the toilet. Another feature that helps with me is a sky light over the shower but you have about 5 inches so not sure that big of help. One sales guy said most parks have nice restrooms and I said why am I spending the money on this RV if I can not use the bathroom. I will say I do use the camp toilets at times but keep looking and look at the cherokee. I am also planning on changing mine out but need to have the room first off.
good luck

Alot depends if you have kids or not cause if it is just you and the Mrs. there are several TT's out there with rear bathrooms--one made I think by Sunny Brook Sunset Creek 279RB the toilet sits out all by itself with lots of room matter fact the whole bathroom is huge including the shower--I'm 6'2" and 300 lbs so yes I need lots of room--I would have traded my Bounder on it if they were giving you anything for trades

This is something to check out before buying an RV. I have no problems in my 20 year old Winnebago, and will have no problems in my next rig, a 5 year old Foretravel. Neither of these motorhomes places the commode in a separate room.
Before deciding to purchase, I also get into the shower and check for elbow room (and room to pick up the soap without opening the shower door)

I hear you my friend we have about the same physical dimensions. After a recent hip replacement I had to sit on one of those elevated stool rings. Boy I can't see going back to a regular ring. it would be like sitting on a horse shoe. This elevated ring is so much wider, although the hole itself is a tad bit smaller, but works for me.

My experience says that it is not the size of the seat that matters so much, as the elevation and knee room. In my conversion the throne seats in narrow space. I added the raiser from CW, what adds about 3".
That made huge difference.

When we ordered our DSDP we had them remove two walls and a couple pocket doors, then substitute a vanity from another model. Left us with an "open" floorplan that wouldn't work for some people. But for the two of us it's fine.
My wife is claustrophobic so couldn't stand the small toilet rooms in some rigs, and the standard in our model was relatively large to begin with.
