Anyone with Cardinal Fifth Wheels have problems with brakes or other issues that required repairs @ dealer while still under warranty? We've had several brands of campers over the years, and we never had major problems with any of them till the Cardinal. Would like to hear input from past/current Cardinal owners.

Hi flojoe, and welcome to the forum. I've only had 2 problems that required trips to dealer, under warranty. One for black tank valve and one for propane gas line. Dealer fixed black tank valve on the spot, and took about 3 weeks to order and install new gas lines. Both were done on the off season, and I was in no hurry. All other repairs I did, with help from this forum and from the cardinal forum. hereAlso the cardinal club has rally's and we all went to the cardinal factory a couple months ago. We also had input for future, cardinal models which forest river appreciated. Linda and I love our cardinal. Hope you don't have any big problems with yours. John

We've had real good luck with both the dealer and the people at Cardinal. We stopped by the factory several weeks ago, not only did they solve our problem they found that our radio needed to be replaced and I didn't know we had a problem. We've had a number of RVs over the year, Holiday Rambler was good and so has Cardinal. I won't go into the company that we had all kinds of problems with.

We had a 2003 Cardinal 312BHLE and now have a 2006 Cardinal 37RL and never had any major issues with either one. Both had tire blow outs that did some damage (Forest River was using crappy Chinese tires) and other than that repairs have been minor. Our 2003 had the main slide sheer a pin while we were out of town and we got the slide in 80% and drove 200 miles home like that (dealer fixed) and then 3 months out of warranty the same slide had some delamination and Forest River covered the whole bill for replacement of the entire outer wall. Other than that, we have been lucky and happy with out Cardinals. Good trailer for the money.

Specifically what sort of problem do you have? All brand new RV's will have some issues that will require repairs. Many of them people simply take care of them selves because they do not want the hassle of taking it back to the dealer. Some are minor annoyances, and some are major repairs that have required the RV being returned to the factory. Which is yours?

flojoe while not a cardinal I have had brake problems with my KZ Sportsmen Sportster. The brakes squealed and they replaced the lining with different lining. Now about 10,000 miles later the lining is squealing again and it is almost wore out. Never had brake trouble with any of my other trailer before. It sure is agravating.

I've had two Cardinals. A 2000 32CKT which was back after two weeks for some minor things and was never back to the dealer until we traded it in Sept 2007. We now have a 2008 34QS we special ordered and took delivery in Sept 2007 and it has never been back to the dealer. Your questions are much too broad for anyone to answer. What exactly are you fishing for??

Yea, I kind of thought he might be trolling. He posted at 10:30 last night and has not been back to comment any more. Makes you wonder?

Have been happy with my Cardinal. No problems except for the 15" tires (have updated to 16' wheels and tires).

Every so often you will get a poster that throws out a query like that and it begs the question: "why would they not go to the specific club forum where the saturation of specific brand would lend better info"? Of course there are folks who have had problems with their Cardinals, as there are folks who have had problems with their $1.5mil Prevost Motorcoachs.
