Does anyone know what month would be a good time to go to Brown County Indiana for the fall leaf color change? I was thinking beginning of October, does that sound like the right time? Thanks in advance!

Due to the amount of rainfall mid-October would probably be the best time this year. We went one year in October but is was a very dry year and the trees were already bare. This year there has been plenty of rainfall so far (massive storms) so early to mid-October should be the peak for colors.

Usually late October. But like the previous poster said if we have a dry fall it could go earlier. A wet warm fall could push it into early November.

Easy solution.
Just go there every couple of weeks from mid August until Christmas.
You are bound to see the beautiful transition.
All joking aside I would love to go back to that area. We lived in Indy about 25 years ago and it was just fabulous to drive down through that area. Your making me envious.

There is a "leaf watch" website you can check with - I can't remember the exact name but perhaps someone here can supply it or you can go searching.

I always go in late October some years we are a bit early some years a little late, ether way we are never disappointed. That time of the year you are going to have color. You will love the view if you are into that kind of thing. I hate to see the leaves change, it makes me cry knowing that summer is over and soon it will be cold , cold, cold. It makes me sad just thinking about it. I would make reservations as soon as you can, it books up fast that time of year. You might have trouble getting a spot this late.

Peak time is usually about the third week of October. Last year it was later due to being drier and warmer than usual. This year so far has been wet. In fact, thunderstorms are forecast for today. I wonder how $4/gal gas will affect the number of fall foliage visitors.
