We are going to the Outer Banks July 9th. We would like a place to park that has full hook-ups and close to a Hotel/Motel where some friends can stay. We do not require a place for kids nor a pool and would like to be on the beach or as close as possible.
Do any of you have a recommendation or suggestion? We normally use a PA park or State Park but we will be there for several days and so far we haven’t found a State Park with full hook-ups.
Thanks in advance for your help.

No full hook ups at the state parks. Ocean Waves campground is in Waves, also beside the Koa and Camp Hatteras, all are nice but Ocean Waves is cheapest, but I would make reservations soon as it might be a problem. You can also get info at www.rv-club.us/northcarolina.

Here's a list on motels in OBX click
We use Camp Hatteras click when we go to OBX. Can't get closer to the ocean then that.

If it's listed in the Yellow Pages, the government shouldn't be messing around with it.

Uh, actually some folks can - Portsmouth Island, Cape Lookout OBX but again, they don't have full hookups as requested by the original poster. Thats us in the tent.

Just came back from Hatteras Sands in Hatteras Village at the end of the island. You need to figure out where you plan to be first since it is 61 miles (of a lot of 35 MPH zones) or so from Nags Head to the end of the island where the ferry is to Ocracoke.
Hatteras Sands is good with full hookups and set in a canal environment for crabbing and kids fishing. Plenty of marina's around for charters, etc. and overall a very quite friendly area. It wasn't crowded at all over the past week in that area.
