I've searched the forum and found a few campgrounds, but I'd like some feedback on a family campground near Quebec City.

Kids are 8, 9 and 11.
Love to explore, both in cities and in the forest.
Bike ride.
Pool or other swimming.
Full Hookup (one week trip)

Any suggestions.

I figured we would look into Quebec since this is the last summer that we won't need to worry about passports for the kids.
Plus it's their 400th anniversary.

Thanks in advance.
Joe.

Use the SEARCH function with Quebec City as the subject... you should get plenty of input.

EH!

As previously stated, I did search.
I found a few recommendations, but not enough detail to know if they're family oriented.

Plus, it's always nice to hear new suggestions.
I imagine that most every topic has at some point been discussed, but that doesn't mean that some fresh perspective isn't welcomed.

One other thing I should add:
My entire French vocabulary consists of Croisant and Oui. A campground that understands English is important.

Thanks.

We stayed in Levis several years ago. It is across the river from Quebec City, but tour buses picked us up at the campground and took us to the Old City for the day. I believe there is also a ferry that will take you across. I think we stayed at Camping Transit, with full hook-ups, and they spoke English. We have been in Quebec several times in recent years and had no trouble finding our way around or being able to communicate.

We stayed at the KOA there 3 years ago. They had a tour that picked us up at the campground on two different days. We were gone for most of the day so all we did at the campground was sleep. The campground staff was very friendly and helpful. We had no trouble walking around the Old City and language was no problem at all. Enjoy

A few years ago, we stayed at a campground on Ile d'Orleans. IdO is a very large island on the St. Lawrence River. I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the campground but I just did a little search and found Camping Orleans. It looks like it! There is no language issue here because they get a lot of English-only-speaking campers. I remember biking is good on the island. When we were there the Queen Elizabeth II (or Queen Mary?) sailed past ---- what a sight! Quebec City is a fantastic place to visit. You and the kids will love it!
Good luck

Just got back from Camping Transit. We really enjoyed it, although we didn't spend much time there - drove to the ferry(about 12 minutes) and walked for hours/miles in Quebec City. But the campground was clean, neat, trim, they had these nice guys in golf carts that escorted us to our site and made sure we were all set, the bathrooms were clean and neat (need quarters for shower - 25cents per 3 minutes) nice pool, little duck pond , little playground, snack bar/restaurant - actualy, the snack bar was the only place that the help didn't speak english but we managed just fine!Little store with beer/wine, Highway noise - yes but for the most part it was like background white noise, didn't really bother us. We were on site 159 - big, 3 services and a few trees.
have fun!

Glad to get your positive feedback (which is rare) on a recommendation. I'm also glad it worked well for you and your family.
