Hi, we're considering upgrading our gas class A for a DP and we're debating whether or not we want a curbside front (kitchen/living room). Obviously they do create more living space but we're concerned that they'll take away 'under awning' space outside (we enjoy eating our meals outside under the awning as much as we can).
Any opinions pro/con ?
Thanks

AWNING!!!! Get something with slides on the other. If you do opt for the awning-side slideout, be sure that it covers in FULL your door area. We have friends who get wet going into their camper from the awning area because the door is between the slide and the awning which leaves about 1" of non-covered area.

Yeah, that ought to be easy. Door awning and patioawning having an overlap.
OK, so far as losing awning spacefrom slide. When you need awning space you are outside. Whn you need slide space you are inside. Therre is a button and about 20 seconds to alleviate this situation. Front opposing slides are too cool not to have.
Now, some coaches have the patio awning mounted on the slide in response to customer concern of losing awning.

I agree with the above. Most of the time we have plenty of room under the awning but as above, its easy to slide the kitchen back in when extra space is needed. Also, when that slide is in on our coach, there is still plenty of room to work in the kitchen as the drivers slide is still out. I like the flexability.

Guess I've never, ever seen anyone retract their curbside slide to better use their awning space. Street-side sounds like obvious choice all else being equal. Kinda like why Mid-door MH's are done for too. TOM

The wife and I neither one want a curbside slideout. Under awning space is definately reduced...the belly compartments are more difficult to get to...and when that slide is retracted ( for whatever reason) you have the "wall" of it blocking or semi blocking the passanger front chair for usage in the "living area".

Awning over curb side slide is not adjustable for different positions for the setting of the late day sun, my opinion worthless as I have one Now I'm changing to manual

Our curbside slide out has the awning on the slide out and it is adjustable. Works for me.
