Friend just bought Garmin 750 and let me play with it. After reading the review in GPS magazine, it appears to do just about everything. Question: Do you use the Garmin installed routing system or do you upload MSF Street and Trips or some other system?????
Have found unit advertised for $249.00 at major NYC electronics dealer. Anybody know of a better price from a known supplier?? Thanks in advance. B

My Nuvi 650 has Garmin's City Navigator North America v.2008 installed. I use its routing system exclusively. In a familiar area I may deviate from the route it selects, then resume on its recalculated route when I'm ready to. In unfamiliar areas, I may look ahead to second guess its route, but usually follow it. It does a pretty good job, though when set for "fastest" route, it doesn't seem to know how many traffic signals factor into the speed equation.

I have the 750 and use Garmin's Mapsource to create routes and transfer them to the Nuvi. Works fantastically well. I love it.

To Create routes you need a copy of CN 2009 (Mapsource) first (Free)
If you do not have Mapsource (it does not come with unit) just call Garmin & they will send it, load it on your PC, you can than create routes, alter them to put in your preferred route, put your stops (Motels, Fuel stops, Campgrounds, Etc) save this & download into your Nuvi 750.
S&T's is a great program but not compatible with Garmin GPS's

That price ( $249.00 ) is a well known "Bait & Switch" scenario(talked about on this site several times)don't fall for it, I buy my GPS's at GPS Discount in Oklahoma, not the very cheapest but a great price & good honest people.
The Nuvi 750 is about $375.

You will love your Nuvi 750. One of its most powerful features is its ability to use custom Point of Interest (POI) files. I have POIs loaded for every Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Lowes, interstate rest area, ham radio repeater, etc. for the entire United States.

Go to POI-Factory.com for these POI files, hundreds of other POI files, and best of all, information on how to make your own POI files.
