The one thing everybody seems to have left out is a vehicle that can be towed four down. THAT is the first thing you need. THEN you can buy all the other stuff.
Or, you can get a flatbed trailer to haul your toad, and you can use ANY vehicle up to the load limits of the trailer.
Or, you can get a front wheel drive vehicle and a dolly.
It simply comes down to what YOU want, then money and time.
Good luck.

Don't overlook sources like eBay. There are a lot of people getting out of RVing altogether or downsizing and selling stuff off. There always were good deal on good used stuff from eBay but it is even better right now.

I set my vibe up in the fall/winter and got reasonable deals on good used stuff. I picked up a Blue Ox Apollo brake for about 1/2 price and got a great deal on a Roadmaster Stowmaster towbar . . . used but in excellent condition. I used an eBay store to pick up my Baseplate (KC Trailer Supply . . . by far the best price & service I found). After that I got magnetic lights that seem to work fine at Camping World and I purchased a drop hitch on eBay for cheap too. Overall I probably spent around $1100-$1200 for a very safe towing setup.

You can spend a little or a lot. I set up both toads for less than $500.

I appreciate all the responses except for two which made no sense to me. I assume one reponse was supposed to be funny or to belittle my question. That is a good way to run off new members, isn't it.

I want to get something I can tow behind my RV. About what will it cost to outfit a car for towing? What do I need?

I set up my 08 Wrangler with:

Blue Ox Aladdin tow bar
Blue Ox Locks
Blue Ox baseplate
Cooltech wiring harness
Blue Ox coiled cable
Blue Ox Coiled safety cables
SMI Stay-N-Play Duo brake system

$2200.00 in parts, installed it myself.

Recently completed outfitting a Cobalt for towing with baseplate, tow bar, wiring, brake buddy, and miscellaneous other parts for $1442. Did all the work myself except for the baseplate installation @ $220.
I had estimated $1500 for the whole deal. I had the baseplate installed professionally since I wasn't sure if I could get the body and trim parts back together and have it look OK.

I read all responses, twice, and I can see nothing all that offensive.
You haven't even been really flamed yet, and it is enough to make you consider leaving the forums?
I'm sure none of us intended to be offensive. Certainly, sometimes an attempt to be humorous can give offense, but then ALL humor is offensive to somebody.
May I respectfully suggest that you do a great deal of reading of the forums, so that you can get a good sense of the types of responses that are normal, THEN decide if you can be part of this community. If yes, welcome. If no, well, no comment is necessary.
Good luck.
