Awesome post. It's Friday afternoon, maybe load up the camper and follow that trail this weekend.

You need to download and install Quicktime for Windows

Matt,

Really great write-up and pics! I typically have a bow saw with me (in addition to hatchets & axes), but as with your trip, I have reminded myself a couple of times in the past to take along my small chainsaw for such occasions. I particularly enjoyed your wife's comment in the second winching video, "I cannot believe Daddy got into this situation". (And I imagine even us Daddies sometimes can't believe we got into "this" situation).

Since you brought the camper and Dodge back in one piece, maybe Jefe 4x4 will let you and your family go again (although, maybe this has sufficiently whetted your appetite to get your own truck & TC).

Cheers!
Don

Darn I have a winch, but I mounted my tool box on a carrier on my front hitch. Hmm another project? Great photos and story. Thanks for posting.

WOW! Looks like a great adventure. So, what's your plans for an encore? Gonna be hard to top this first trip!

I love our 5'er but am envious of these types of trips. Perhaps we'll add a TC to the "arsenal" one day.
