4 days in the Adirondacks, just south of the Canadian border. The TT has been there for the last few weeks. It is only 300 miles, but no point in towing it back to NJ just to bring it back for the 4th. Friends have 550 acres there "and the neighbors have 4500 acres that we are allowed to use ". There is a cabin there with several boats, ATVs and enough logging roads to ride for miles. The kids absolutely love it. We plan on setting up some Geocaches for the kids to find as well as a few campfire activities. And if it rains, we have 88 episodes of the Little Rascals! Not really dry camping. The cabin has a generator for pumping the water and a hot water heater. So we have some shore power during the day to keep everything charged. After that the TT will go to PA, as my brother has 15 acres there so we can play on the weekends between the kids summer camp.

Kinda off the topic. We love St Andrews State Park and have stayed there several times. The last time we were there we had heard how great Top Sail was so we drove the few hours from St. Andews to Topsail and stayed three nights at Top Sail. We were very disappointed. Topsail is nice but it is no St. Andrews. No fires, no water close (a bus ride or ten minute walk), a lot less trees.
It is would be interesting to see how someone else who likes St. Andews SP feels it compares with Topsail.
Happy Camping.

I sent you a PM.

On the point of Topsail in Destin.... We stayed there a couple weeks this last fall. A very nice RV resort. The ocean is about a half mile walk or ride the tram through the dunes area. This is Florida coastal swamp type land and is very interesting. The beaches in this area are some of the finest in the world IMHO.

We used the beaches at Blue Mountain and Seaside just down the road. Nice beaches and facilities along with some handy restaurants. Very nice.

The sites and park at Topsail are first rate in the "class A coach area " loop but a bit tight in the front part of the park. A very nice park. We'll stay there again one day.

This was a private RV resort which was taken over by the state, so is set up like an RV resort and not like a SP campground.

We enjoyed our stay there, and I'm sure you will too.
Have fun.

We are having a front yard/back yard bash. Had planned a camping trip, but with every ones schedule, decided it would be easier to come and go from the house.

Front yard, will have bikes etc for the grand kids plus a canopy for them to play under.

Back yard will be for cooking and playing in the pool.

Menu will be the usual burgers and dogs, chicken, steaks and what every else the kids find to throw on the grill.

Inside stuff will be done the day before, so Nana can play in the pool too.

That night we will take all of the grand kids to the local carnival and fire works.

Sat morning will be spent down town at the annual Huckleberry festival. Big parade and many other activities.

Sat afternoon will be spent with the boys helping us finish a few things a round the house, im preparation for us being gone while DH has cancer surgery.

Kind of bitter sweet. I will miss seeing my grand kids for 2 to 3 weeks. But, will rejoice getting this surgery over with and DH getting a clean bill of health.

We are headed to Ohiopyle State Park in southwestern PA. Haven't been there before (spend a lot of time at Rocky Gap in western MD), so we are looking forward to it.

Hope everyone has a great and safe time!
