Sometimes you can find similar parts at Home Depot and do a little modification - saves big bucks.

Its sad, but most plastics are petroleum based. Now shipping cost are up due to gas, supply and demand....all these factors are jacking up prices. Just wait! it'll get worse!

Shame it doesn't work that way. Look at the price of gas and food. And we all have a huge demand for them.
Sheriff Justice - Gas supports my point since it hasn't kept up with inflation.

It's all relative. Compared to what it took to keep my 50' sailboat operational, RV stuff is an absolute bargin. With a boat, never expect change from a Thousand dollar bill.

The little plastic clip that holds the fridge outside cover in place - $6. but if you need one (I did 'coz I broke one) what are you going to do?
But the same dealer only charged me $5 for two orange side marker lamp lenses.
Go figure!

That is why I only own a camper, I don't expect change from a $100 bill.

I purchased one of those square safety pins for the wdh bar. The one that holds the hook in place where the chain goes. $3.15 each.
next time look at a tractor supply store or lowes. They have them much cheaper.

If you think the prices for RV stuff is high try boating or small aircraft.
And yes, stay out of the RV stores whenever possible.

A good friend and co-worker is an avid boater (36' Cabin Cruiser). She talks about "boat units" for repairs and maintenance. A "boat unit" to her is $500.
She says that saying they spent "3 boat units" makes it easier to take than saying they spent $1500.
I've paid as little as 70 cents for a platic drawer guide bracket at my local RV dealer.
Replacement parts for automobiles are equally costly. I've seen studies where someone calculated that buying all the parts from a dealership and assembling a car ends up costing approximately 300% of what it cost to buy the assembled car off the lot.
And that doesn't include the labor to assemble it.
