Here is the question. We are looking at Holiday ramblers and is there going to be a big difference between Ford and Chevy? We have always been GM and i know there allison tranny can't be beat. But how good is the Ford in that size coach? It is going to be the Arista or Admiral but don't know for sure just yet. The dear wife has to drive an A. It is a lot bigger than the C we have now.

Thank you

I have had 2 Lincoln cars and an Expedition SUV. I have replaced the tranny in all 3. My Allison in my Bounder(Workhorse) has a 200,000 mile warrenty.

Either one will do the job for you. Those who have the Workhorse chassis will most likely recommend it as being the best and those with the Ford chassis will do likewise.

Our 38ft 2000 coach is built on the Ford chassis and we have the older 4 speed transmission. All I can say is after 8 years and 58,000 miles it has served us well with no engine or transmission problems.

I'm sure there are folks with coaches built on the Workhorse chassis who have had the same good experience as we've had.

Look and drive both, when you find one with the floor plan and other features that best suits your needs, then that's the one you should seriously consider buying.

Best of luck with your search

We had a 2001 Adventurer on the Ford and it was fine. Our 2005 Suncruiser was only available on the Workhorse; otherwise we would have got another Ford. Well, now I like the WH much better, especially the Allison.

Test drive one of each and decide which feels better to you.

What does a golf ball and a Ford have in common?

You can actually drive a golf ball 200 yards.

In my opinion Fords have always been backwards, ya know, like D-river R-eturns O-n F-oot

Get the Chevy. That Allison and 8.1 will get you there EVERY time.
