My next door neighbor is a solid guy, and we talk and work on stuff together from time to time. Anyway, we were talking about my latest trip out west, and I could tell he would like to do something similar. His wife has the exact same Tahoe as me. Obviosuly, they could hook the Rockwood and Equal-i-zer right up and pull away.

I was thinking about bringing up the idea of letting him take my trailer for a long weekend or something like that. I'm sure he'd want to pay me something for the use. After all, it sits unused for the vast majority of time.

Just wondering, please discuss...

If you trust him, it should be alright. If they like it, maybe they'll get their own.

If you have an agreement stating (in writting) that anything he breaks, he fixes to your satisfaction....should be ok. If you dont have it in writting it isnt worth the risk. (IMHO) The best thing to do is help him start looking for his own TT.

I have a few friends I would let borrow most anything I own, except our trailer.

Tough call. We bought our TT brand new last year. The first words out of my brother-in-law's mouth were "awesome, I can't wait to borrow it!!" Now it's not that I don't trust my BIL, I'm just not comfortable with the idea of someone else taking it. I'll probably eventually let him do it, but I'm just not ready to "let go" of my baby

If you want him to and you think that he will ejoy it, then go right ahead. As long as you have a lot of trust in the guy.

There are companies set up to rent out TTs. Check with your insurance company (if you have it insured) to find out what they say. Personally, we don't loan out anything valued over $100.00

Not just a question of trust, or fixing anything that breaks, but has he ever towed before? I would be more concerned with him wrecking the thing out of lack of experience towing than simply breaking something.
