He hasn't asked, so why do you want to bring it up?

In order to offer to loan it, you obviously trust him very much. Go for it. Just remember your learning curve about set up, take down and dumping tanks. Directions written down (the dummy version) would be very helpful.

You'll find many, many people will tell you NO, NO, and did I tell you NOOOOO! But it boils down to the fact that it's your rig and your decision. There are people I would loan my camper out to.

When we camp, it's DH & me mostly. Occasionally step-daughter (16) comes, though not necessarily her choice

IMO, I would not let anybody barrow my trailer, the way I figure it is I spent the money to purchase, the time to maintaine it, and the time repairing it for me to just get in and go, not someone else. But that's just my opinion.

luck would have it

Wow...that's a tough one.

23' is a nice but modest size. It's do-able for the average person. If you had a 32' 5er or a 35' motorhome I would say not a chance in hell. Tell him if he'd like to barrow it that would be fine, but you'd like to camp with them for a weekend first, just sit in the passenger seat on the way out and show him the ropes at the campground. I'm sure that would put EVERYBODY'S mind at rest.

If there's not enough room for both couples you could always just do an overnight fishing trip with the guy.

Like some others have said, will your insurance cover the neighbor? Does the neighbor have any experience towing? Does the neighbor know how to maintain the rig? i.e. setup and break down, dumping the tanks, etc.

If you are comfortable with our neighbor borrowing your RV, I would make sure they are comfortable borrowing your RV. It is real expensive to fix when things break because they weren't used correctly.

This is a good one!!!!my old trailer that was worth $2500 bucks...no problem......my new trailer, no way. Maybe after it has 10yrs on it!

To many variables, as people mentioned, has he towed(this one being the biggest factor!)....say he clips someone or something.....worst yet, your whole rig is stolen!!!!(just saying)

No need to maybe ruin a friendship over, I've seen it happen with lending out a drill!

Though call....hell, I wouldn't even let my brother use mine.

Any camping is good camping!

What would it do to your friendship if he damaged it and returned it to you like that. What is your friendship worth.

I would be hesitant to let somebody borrow something that is worth $1000s of dollars. As stated previously I would check with your insurance company to see if they would even cover it. This could open up a whole new can of worms and ruin your friendship if something does happen and it is not covered or he refuses to pay for it. And if you "rent" it to him, that also may affect your insurance. I would be leary about doing it.

I agree. Our beds, and we are going to be the only ones sleeping in them until we sell it.
