I have a Jag II that I just bought last year. Well, we went on a couple of long trips (Out West and Out East). While on the last trip my wife noticed that one of the tires was going bald on the outer 2 inches of the tire. While at one of the stops, a guy came out to our campsite and rotated the balding tire to the other side and told me it looks like a bent axle. Well, we made it home and now it is in the shop. Should I have to pay to get it fixed? Also, has this happened to others in such a short time after buying a new trailer?
No, I have not had it happen to me but, it is somewhat common. You will be stuck with the bill unless you can show that it came from the lot that way. Any hard bump in the road can bend an axle. Good luck.
I had a trailer for a couple years without problems. Took it to Les Schwab for new tires. On the trip after the replacement the inside of the tire had worn to the cords within 100 miles. Les Schwab denied having any part of it. I replaced the axle and haven't had anymore problems. I don't support Les Schwab anymore.

you dont ever want to jack up your rv on the axle, only under the spring hanger or frame as close to the wheel as possible jacking anyplace else can bend the axle.

What I have seen is the axles in crooked. I always take a tape measure and pick the same point on each side of the axle and measure up to the fron of the tongue. They should be withing 1/8 or so. My buddies was off 3/4" of a inch and almost shredded a tire in the 250 mile drive home. We were able to fix it ourselves but it is something to check. Chances are warranty will not cover this.
