Actually, since Eratosthenes measured the size of the earth to a pretty fair approximation back around the end of the 3rd century BCE, no educated person thought the earth flat. The argument against Columbus was not that he was going to fall off the edge, but that his estimation of the size was far too small and his ships could not possibly carry the supplies necessary for the voyage. This was true and he and his crew would have died had not there been an unknown continent in their way.

The flat earth story is exactly that - a story. It originated with Washington Irving's biography of Columbus. More details can be found in Jeffrey Burton Russell's "Inventing the Flat Earth." It's a relatively modern fiction that has become a well-known urban legend.

what-EV-VAH. Point is, things change, and over time people and theories are proven and disproven.

Ronn Motor Company Building New Generation of Hydrogen Cars
06/3/2008
Ronn Motor Co. unveiled the key to a new generation of green cars by revealing the nuts and bolts of what it expects will help drive down consumers' cost to travel the highways with on demand hydrogen production. The new car, now in pre-production, is called the Scorpion, and the Company plans for it to be available to consumers this fall. The hydrogen delivery system with dual computer processor controls produces hydrogen on demand, and in real time, which will be inducted through the air intake manifold and blended with gasoline at a ratio of 30-40% hydrogen, according to Maxwell. The fuel for this system is derived from fracturing water molecules drawn from a small on board water tank, and will not require a high pressure, on board hydrogen storage tank or hydrogen fueling station.

Millennium Group Holdings Inc. has Changed its Name to Ronn Motor Co

On April 22, 2008, Millennium Group Holdings Inc. changed its name to Ronn Motor Co.

The Laws of Thermodynamics and The Law of Conservation of Energy are not theories. They will not change. Slim possibility that maybe at the core of a black hole or some other exotic locale they might not work quite they way they do here, but as for Earth, they are not negotioable.

This all reminds me of another scheme that was supposed to turn physics on its ear. Anyone remember cold fusion? Even though it has been thoroughly debunked and proven that it consumes more energy than it produces, there are still people who believe. But I haven't seen any cold fusion products hit the market yet, have you?

Why have a problem with this technology? The gasoline engine is about 15 to 20% efficient.

A cycle to compare to would be a steam plant. We use the rejected heat to preheat the incoming water while recirculating the used steam, thus making the entire cycle more efficient, not creating energy just making the process more efficient.

No laws of physics or thermodynamics being broken, just process changes to make the original energy source more efficient.

While not scientific, a local TV station did a story on one of these devices. They controlled every variable you would and came up with some improved fuel economy.

I know the news story you are referring to. Stay tuned, they are giving a followup report on July 15th.

Point is, basing your argument on false analogies does nothing to support your argument; only weakens it.

And theories are never proved, only shown to be inaccurate representations of the physical world. See Kuhn's "The Structure of Scientific Revolutions" for more information.

The bold phrase is your problem. They did not control for every variable because they simply do not have the equipment to do so. There is a reason why research is done in universities with big budgets and lots of slave labor (I mean graduate students...).
