Going to Rubys for the first time. Any ideas on what or where the best RV spots are? Anything to avoid? We are in a 22' Class C towing a 4X8 trailer with the dirt bikes on it. Any advice would be a big help.

Thank You

7/27/08 *UPDATE* Well the trip is complete. Rubys is a very nice place to camp. There is A LOT of cruise america rental's with European tourists. They only stay a night ot two then move on, wierd.

Anyway, WOW what a place. I would recommend Staying at Kings creek campground at Tropic Res. or better yet, one of the many meadows just outside Tropic Res.. Most of the trails in that area are centered around Tropic res.

We logged just over 400 miles of riding in 6 days. The weather is always nice. Ir rained on and off for almost 2 days and it made the riding better (no dust) and made the colors of the dirt really stand out.

The kids were already asking about coming back next year. I would give Rubys Inn a 9.5 out of 10 and Utah a 10 out of 10 for allowing us to enjoy the land and for not making ATV riders feel like a criminal as they do here in So. Calif.

Bye

We ended up in space 151, which was less then ideal with our Class A and trailer - they claimed they didn't have us down owning a Class A which was a bunch of bunk. But life goes on. Make sure they know what kind of rig and length you have.

If I had my choice I would take the spots from 101-109 or 110-118. The problem with the 140-154 spots is that you have cars/trucks driving by on either side of you stirring up the dust from the gravel roads. They offered to put us in 140 but that site got all the traffic.

Why not stay in the np campground? Lots of trees and shade!

Enjoy your trip. Bryce NP is still one of our favorites.

Can't help you with Rubys...but when we go up there we stay at the King Creek Campground. It's over by the Tropic Reservoir, a nice NF campground, no hookups but water and dump available. You can ride right out of camp, lots of critter viewing early in the morning and just before dark.

I just got back from a nice long week at Ruby's Inn and we had spaces 124-126, if you can get 125 or 126 nice and open camp spots without traffic.

We stayed at Ruby's two years ago and had spot 115 which wasn't too bad. We had a 30ft Class A and it worked well for us. In general, the campground was nice and we enjoyed ourselves. I would stay there again if passing through the same area.
