Welcome to the leisure group.(Yeah right). I'm on my 5th year, and it just keeps getting better and better. I'm busier now than when I was working. Makes you wonder how you ever had time for work. Enjoy it ,it's great.

I retired after 43 years too. If you want a reality check, go back to where you worked and see if they filled or canceled your job. Then you will know that you are retired! Aint it great!?

Well, they filled my job, temporarily anyways....but I don't really care what they do and that's a nice feeling.

I'm looking at adjusting to the new life and looking forward to it. You know,as michcruiser60 said, I've noticed both my eyes and my hearing are not what they used to be, so I want to make the best use of what I've got and always remember that if you don't use it, you lose it.

Thanks for all the advice and congrats from those looking forward to retirement and those that are already there and enjoying it.

Skid we won't be rich, but we'll be doing ok.....good pension, benefits and investments to supplement .

Welcome to the club.... After 43 years you've earned it.
First thing I did was toss my watch away. All the best to you.

Thanks for the warm words. But I'm not going to throw my watch away....it's a Rolex...my wife bought it for me, over 25 years ago as an engagement present. If I tossed my watch away, I'm afraid she would toss me away.....

Congratulations! You made it! May you have many more days enjoying your retirement. My wife and I have now been retired for 5 years. During that time we sold our old place, full-timed for two years, and decided to plant ourselves 5 miles from the grandkids. Now we have a place in the woods. We're busy now with building up the grass and planting lots of evergreen trees so it's green during the winter. The only downside is the explosive price of fuel curtailing some of our activities.
