What is the best suspension upgrade for the money for the workhorse chassis. Going down interstate the other day really had to fight crosswinds.

The only thing I have added to my W22 is the Steer-Safe. My steering response has definately improved along with less play in the steering wheel, and much better control in crosswinds and with passing trucks. IMHO definately worth the price.

Not cheap but it was worth it - I fitted Roadmaster sway bars front and rear and 'track' rod bars front and rear (Davis front) Blue Ox Tiger rear. Now holds course like the proverbial train.
May consider a steer safe later but IMHO I feel that is more a band aid. But Hey! it works for a lot of people.

I was looking on the workhorse forum and many folks recommended Steer Safe. This helps keep in a positive neutral position as well as helping maintain control in the case of a blow out or sticking the wheels in a rut.
Firestone and Air List have bags to help, but they mainly stiffen and support, not sure what that would do for a side wind.

I put two things on my WOrkhorse
1: Davis Trac-Bar (Also called a pan-hard bar)
2: Blue Ox True-Center steering stablizer
Of the two, I think the Trac-Bar made the biggest improvement. but I can't be sure
Fact: In 2006 I made two trips to Las Vegas from Detroit
The first trip (Left Detroit 1/2/2006) when I got to Vegas it was a pleasure to drive the towed.. I mean it was WORK driving that 'horse.
The second trip,, after addition of the above, left Thanksgiving Tuesday
When I got to Vegas man was that towed hard to drive
Same towed. Same towed exactly
Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

I bought a lightly used 2006 Winnie on a W22. Planned on installing front and rear trac bars but wasn't necessary as the previous owner had installed them and the F/R Roadmaster Anti-Sway Bars. Drove straight as an arrow. I added Konis to smooth out the harshness caused by the Bilsteins. I love driving the Coach. The winds have to be really blowing (quartering) to affect the steering. When trucks pass I don't get the initial push but I do get a slight pull after they pass by.

We added a trac bar, from Brazels RV, and it did the job.

I put on Loni's all the way around and what a differance. Cost was high but they took care of it, meaning koni. Workhorse put on two sets of monroes in less than 25k and they helped nothing. When it was time again they just said sorry warentee is up tough lock. I believe workhorse put the wrong shocks on to begin with.
