I have Directv programing. Just recieved an add from them about Internet access. $39.95 for 12 months then $49.95. Is anyone familiar with DTV's internet access. Also will I still need an internet provider. I could call them but so many times I get someone I can barely understand. (Not just DTV but most nation wide business's)Many times they will tell you what they think you want to hear. Sorry for the ranting.

Their internet seems to simply be a package deal. It is not through the dish, in fact it is provided Verizon, Embarq, Qwest, Earthlink, or AT&T depending on where you live.

A simple google search will give you more information.

Interesting that DirecTV may be trying to sell you DSL from AT&T. AT&T is trying to sell me satellite TV from Dish.

But AT&T is not DirecTVs only partner. Different partners, different solutions, in different places.

There are a couple of programs DirecTV markets, none of them are good for RVers

Most are "wire line" services (Either DSL or cable) and the remaining one is Wild Blue which is 2-way Satellite Ka band and spot beamed.

Spot beams don't work well with RV's

Hughes or Starband still offer Ku band ConUS beams (Contential United States) these are good for RV's

Or an air card from your cellular provider
