I'll be taking my grandangels, 6 and 7, in the MH tomorrow for our first camping trip together. They will be sitting on the couch (which have lap belts only) and I am wondering what is the safest way for them to travel. I have booster seats for them, but it doesn't seem to be that safe for them if we were to be in an accident.
What is the safest way for them to travel with only the lap belt around them or in their booster seats with the lap belt around them?
Thanks,

Booster seats are not meant for sideway use, so they won't work on the couch. The purpose of a booster is for proper positioning of the shoulder harness so the only correct seat for use would be the front passenger seat. Do make sure you belt them in on the first trip, if you don't set the rules the first time, then they won't adhere to them the next time and expect free movement about the coach.

You are riding down the road in a HOUSE!!! If you are in an accident that is that severe to get to that couch then it would not matter where they sat or what booster seat they sat in. Lots of us have grown up traveling in the back of a MH or truck camper and never were buckled in and we survived. Not saying that was the safest way to go but you can only do so much to protect your loved ones till you reach a point of what's the use just stay home cause it's too dangerous to go---Buckled in at the couch should be just fine--PS am a former fire fighter so been to a few wrecks along the way

I would just use the lap belts. But you should discuss it with their parents.
Have a great time camping,

We just use the lap belts for our Granddaughters when they go with us. I would invest in a portable DVD player that you can set across from them, then let Sponge-Bob Square Pants make the trip not so long for them. Of course you may go a little stir crazy ,, " Are you ready Kids" ...

We had our 2 grandsons with us for a week. Make a rule " No pushing of any buttons". Our 5 yr. old pushed the 12v house disconnect and it took me an hour find it. He said it was an accident. He did it twice! Curious little boys love to push buttons and see what happens.

If you're equipped with a dinnette, that is the best way to go.
