My wife and I are starting to plan a get-away in early November. We are planning to go to Huntington Beach, South Carolina from Southern Indiana. With the money tight, we are looking for a couple of inexpensive overnight spots. Yes, I know we could do the Wal-Mart or Cracker Barrel overnighter (any safe, clean suggestion?). How about a camp ground that is just for the night and not a destination site. Right now the trip will take us down I-75, I-40, through I-26 to Huntington Beach.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Would your path take you thru Columbia SC?

If so would that be to far for a over nighter?

It would be nice to know a general area that you would like to overnite in. How far do you plan to drive in a day? Will this be a 2 or 3 day trip.
I could give you several places to overnite between KY and the beach.

Help us, Help you!!!!

This will be a two day trip. Right now we are just in the planning stage. Almost any route is good as long as we get to Huntington Beach. Half of the fun is in the trip.

Thanks again

If Columbia SC works for you then Sesquicenteniall State Park, on Two Notch Rd., just east of I-77 would be a good choice. Also, there's lots of shopping between the interchange & the park.

I second Sequicentennial if you are going thru Columbia. Near Charlotte, NC is Kings Mth. St. Park. Also Lake Wateree just off 77 between Charlotte and Columbia.

If your route is I26 I would agree with Sesquicentennial.

So I agree with our friends from Canada and our neighbors in NC.
