We are not going to change our plans. As a matter of fact, we just purchased a trailer to go camping. We did not have a trailer before. Here is a good example.....7 days in a Disney Hotel, Value Resort will cost you anywhere from $89 to $139 a night. $700.00 is a good average for figuring. Fort Wilderness campground, a Disney Resort, same "Disney" feeling if not more because of the free "Chip and Dale" campfire story time, will cost you $350.00. I know we checked. So there is $350.00 you can apply to gas and still go to Disney. Not saying everyone goes to Disney, or wants to for that matter, but we had a trip planned this year so I know the figures. Basically just an example. I think that the memories made by camping far outweighs the extra $$ in gas. I would rather cut back on a dinner out or buying coffee on the way to work and redirect that money for camping. Just my $0.02.

Yeah Right...who has been in power for the last eight years? Plus the invasion of Iraq with the help of the Conservatives has only helped to bring the oil prices up. No...that is one of the main reasons we are in this mess. You can thank Mr. Bush and all his oil buddies...

I hear all the time about the cost of building a new oil refinery…and that being a negative effect on oil production. Well…actually…if the oil companies can have multi-billion $$$ PROFITS over and over again…then I believe they can invest some of that money in building refineries. Yes…it will cost…but then again…the oil companies have the money to do it. But instead they actually want Govt subsidies from hard working tax paying Americans. Where is the justice there? If the oil companies did not have the cash…then ok…but with those profits…GIVE ME A BREAK! IMHO...just more excusses from big oil...

All our camping trips will be local to our State. The cost of fuel…and resulting cost of living has increased more than I care to talk about. So…local it is…and still trying to enjoy what the GREAT outdoors has to offer.

Who's been in charge the last 8 years??? Good job they've done.
Listening to some of you do nothing right wingers saying the Dems wouldn't let us do anything makes me sick. Do you need their permission?

We just got back from a trip to pick up my Grandson from CT for the summer. We went by way of Cape Cod and camped along the National Seashore en route. What a great area of the country, one that I had never seen before. But...we are seriously considering flying him out here next year due to the cost of gas.

Okay, I won’t talk politics. Nothing will hold us and our new HTT back! I am almost “up-North” so we can take some very nice trips and keep the miles low if gas prices continue their trend.

It's changed our camping habits. Just canceled our first trip ever. Was suppose to go to Myrtle Beach over Labor Day but decided to stay closer to home. Now it's not only the gas prices but it seems like everything is getting more expensive and the last time I checked my check wasn't getting any bigger. I'm not going to stop camping but I'm not going to be put in the poor house or run up a credit card that takes 100 years to pay off doing it. I'll admit it I'm jealous of the ones that can go out and camp alot. I just can't.
