You come onto my site, I bark, especially if you're a cat. Otherwise, I'm quiet. Just stay off my site, and we'll be fine.

Wouldn't be more humane to just euthanize the dog?

Nothing to me is more grating than the noise of a barking dog! It's OK for a few minutes, and I understand that dogs will bark, but it shouldn't go on incessantly. I tend to enjoy dogs, they are fun to play with and great companions. They are like children however, and need discipline and guidance.

...a bit more tongue in cheek, if you want to "outdo" the dog, just hit the panic button on your Tow vehicle's remote whenever the neighbor's dog starts tuning up! If they don't hear their dog barking, they sure will hear your alarm going off! (in reality, the car alarm would probably keep the dog barking longer)

I've had pretty good luck with one of those ultra-sonic anti-bark devices both at home and on the road as long as the dog is outside...the high frequency sound doesn't penetrate another TT very well. At home, I added a large horn speaker to it and pointed it to my back-door neighbor's house. She has a very friendly black lab, but it tends to bard a little too much. She said to me one time "I'm sure glad he's gotten over barking at everything so much when I let him out!" I didn't tell her about my "training" device! (she thinks the large horn speaker and the gray box on my garage is for a security system!)

We've had three dogs in our home when our boys were growing up! Chinese Shar Pei. One is left from that little family and we are looking at another. Incessant barking is unacceptable. But at one point we found out that one of our dogs was being totally rude and barking at our neighbor. We also found out that this was happening about the same time our 14 year old son came home from school. He'd send the dogs out and ignore them!

We corrected the problem but the neighbor still hates us after 8 years. We do not ignore our dogs, we do not ignore our neighbors. On the other hand don't flip out because a dog barks, use your words. Kind communication is the only way to get along.
