My 1972 Cardinal has a Nevins pressurized water system.
The compressor is located under the sink area and copper tubing runs
around the wall and back to the tank under one of the seat cushions.
I found a small freeze split in the tubing about half way through
the run. Water must have somehow backfed into the air line from the tank or it was just condensation from the compressor. For some reason, it's an odd sized tubing and I couldn't get
an inline compression fitting for it.
Anyway, I decided to just replace the entire run of tubing with 1/4"
soft drawn copper. But I got to thinking, (dangerous I know:-)
why couldn't I relocate the compressor pump close to the tank so I
wouldn't have to run the copper tubing all the way from the front
of the camper to the rear where the tank is?
It would be much easier to run a couple of power wires from the front
where the switch is, to the place I would be mounting the compressor,
near the water tank.
Can't see a problem at all, whatever is easier, the copper line of the wiring, do it. I imagine we aren't talking more than about 40 psi so why not run pex line instead of copper? That is what I would do.

Thanks. It just didn't make sense to me to have the compressor
located so far from the tank.
I'm going to use copper since the fittings are already there and
the less connections the better:-)
