How do you check if your trailer is level? If I use the floor as my leveling point it is different than if I use the tongue or frame underneath. What I do is using a 4FT. level on the floor but I was wondering what others do.

I use a small 12" bubble level on the inside lip of the front storage door for fore and aft. For left and right I use the inside floor of the front storage area. You can also use the floor just inside the main door.

At first when empty, I use a level in the floor of the freezer and once I get it level there both ways, I find a convenient spot inside to put a bubble level for future use and this is when I apply and set my outside levels that I use in setting up the trailer in the campsite. I use the little 2 in job on the front side window for the front to back and the below when getting level side to side when first pulling into the site since I can see that from my driver's side seat. It also has a front to back level, but it's not very accurate.

I used a 48" carpenters level on the floor inside the TT right above the axles to check side to side & FR to RR. A tech at a TT factory told me this is the best way and the way it's done at the factory. After doing all this I installed the Level Master, works great.

I'm not aware of any TT that has that sort of clearance especially side to side over the axles (usually the refer is over the axles and there is some sort of hall near the refer so the side to side is less than 30") and unless you are twisting the frame your can use any location on the floor if that is what you want to use since position along the trailer frame is netural as far as how level the trailer is.

I use my wife. When she says it's level, that's good enough for me.

Actually, we have a big metal ball bearing (no kidding!) that we keep in a drawer. We put it on the floor and watch to see which way it rolls. It is amazing how often our gauges say we are level and the ball says we are not, no matter how many times I readjust the gauges. Personally, I think this is overkill, but DW is very sensitive to "unlevelness."

Yes, it takes a little extra time, but we don't have a television in the trailer, so this is our evening entertainment.

Thanks for the answers. I'll use the floor and when the bathroom door doesn't close by itself I know I'm good.
