Even though it's a big site, I misjudged backing in and AFTER getting leveled, chocked, hooked up, etc I found a tree 3" within the area my awning should take. With the electric ones, there is only IN or OUT, no in between, so I guess it stays rolled up.

Wow!

You sure have had to adjust your lifestyle with that new TT.

Don't let the buttons fool you, Scott. It's just as much work setting up as a hybrid (except the bed is already made).

Boy, I feel human again... A roaring campfire was JUST what the doctor ordered. One of my neighbors and my youngest daughter came to share dinner and the fire, and when they left, a solid night's sleep was in order.

I had a pop-up on one side and a T@b camper on the other, both with little kids. The parents were jealous of my camper and I was jealous of them. It reminded me of precious times when the kids were little and I would take them out in the pop-up. Ah well, soon enough it'll be grandkids and I'll get to relive it all over again. hehehe

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I'm off to work in 2 hours.

Cheers!

I can tell you that some of my best times with my boys was squeezing our lives into the PUP for a weekend, week or more. It was a lot of work and management of space and patience but it was cozy and having a porta-potti inside with the Coleman was a real advantage for sure.

I know folks who tent feel the same way if that is their frame of reference.

The first two seasons with the ROO were great as well since both Scott and Alex were there 90% of the time. Of course things change and now it is only Alex and of course Max. In the near future it may only be Max and I. It is what it is.

THEN the grandkids will be popping up and you'll get to do it again!

While I'm not looking forward to the word GRANDFATHER being used in my presence, I'm certainly looking forward to teaching them to fish, tie knots, make s'mores, and enjoy nature.

Looks like all the sites in the C loop are taken. Cindy said the D loop was close, but, I can't get to the map at the Killens Pond site.
Anybody got a map they can post a link to or email me a PDF?

I'm still waiting to hear about my boss' schedule to see if I can take that Thursday off. We'll be looking into the Eagles Peak dates as well.

Hope everyone is having a fine weekend.

PS - What do you think the weather will be like at Killens around then?

Well, the average for 'Dover, DE' in April is lows 44 and highs 65 but that's for the month of April. Who knows the temp in early April.

The temps are good and I know no one can predict this for out what rain may fall. We we're wondering what the past rainy weather might be. I figure ya'll wouldn't book during a time known for normal rainy weather. We have this teenager now and she was having a hard time with Elk Neck being wet. I know, it's the chances with camping. We still had fun. Just got the dampness out of the trailer and shelter.

Just want to have some inkling of what to expect for Cyd. She'll be the bored one with "I got nothing to do" speech.
Of course I'll be the one saying we should get the popcorn out and the Mexican Train and have at a good game. I'm so easily amused.

I agree the weather was lousy, perhaps more marginal than not. Only driving an hour (but four times up and down I-95 during my stay) it is not the same as coming from VA for sure.

Sadly when you book a year in advance and have a large group that you really want to socialize with our weather was lousy. Again, the weekends on either side were perfect. Oh well.

Jay, book in the D loop! You won't be sorry!

This weekend was PERFECT! Had a totally awesome time with some "cool" friends at Point Lookout! I hope y'all saw the glare from the huge fire built by none other, Phil, our firemeister! The Navy planes at Pax River thought it was part of the landing strip! LOL

Fishing was great with my dad, he caught a 18" flounder and I caught a 13" black bass, which he says people rarely catch. It had pretty coloring. . .. dad enjoyed his time out on his lil boat with his fav daughter but she will never learn to bring MORE cushion to sit on! OUCH!

My head was still swaying back and forth from being on the lil boat that I didn't even drink anything alcoholic! I was loopy enough! Also CoCo got to stay at home, so I got to sleep in on Sunday morning! Woo-Hoo! Now to plan for the next weekend trip! YIPEE! More fishing!

Jay, I "believe" D5 is going (if not already gone) D4 and D6 are nice sites with a convenient path to the pond and to our path on C loop.
