I'd go with a proven winner vs. an unknown contender too. Ford has a poor history of successfully introducing new diesels smoothly.
Happy trails!!

Enjoy that Ford, it's the BEST looking truck on the road.

Thanks for all the replys..I hooked up 12,000 lbs to it with 10 miles on the truck went into N.Y for work. I put on 3500 miles on the first trip, and she did every bit as well as any one of my diesels..Dont get me wrong she downshifted on a few hills but that is what the V10 will do when the rpm's drop.
I went with the V10 because i have had all (3) diesels ford dodge and chevy, and everyone of them had given me trouble, after spending the extra bucks for the diesel i did not find it worth the money. I was also stranded a few times with the 6.0 ford and the chevy did the same to me with a fuel rail sensor, and the truck went into limp mode on me when i had a load on.
I am happy to just start the truck and go, and not having to deal with the extra fuel filters, and 15 quarts of oil. The diesels naturally pull the hills better, but i got to tell you, with the V10 and the 4:30 gears this gasser is pretty impressive!!
