82 messages on the LA social. 19 on this one is anyone else working on this. I hope I can say this Rodger.
It just seemed odd so much last year and years before and now all the attention is on the other post. WE are looking but we have voted on some we have posted a few years before so I dont know if its worth it. It also needs checked out as the rain and all we had this year. It seems we can at least talk. Just my thoughts. Janie

I wish I could be of more help in this endeavor, but as much as I enjoy living in S.C. , there is no campground in the state that would work for a B rally. Areas around Myrtle Beach as too large to care about a group, Charleston area has a couple of really nice campgrounds, but they are not interested in having a rally, and most of the other good campgrounds available are State Parks that will only take reservations for individuals.

Pretty much the opposite around here in Wi. Most of the private campgrounds don't have the facilities to handle a large group...as in no pavilion or building for us to gather in. The campgrounds also have alot of seasonal campers so don't have room for a bunch of us B's to gather at. I really don't know of any campgrounds that would be large enough to handle a B group around here.

Chris and I have been in contact with a campground on the Lake Erie shoreline that can accommodate an even larger number than we had at B-5 including an enclosed pavilion with restrooms, stage, tables and chairs for over 200. We are driving up to spend the day with the owners on Wednesday and will have a report posted by the weekend including the amenities, and attractions in the area.

Here is a campground that is at least worthy of talking about. Deer Run Resort - Elkader, Iowa . I cannot be involved in this, however, but can vouch that this campground and surrounding countryside is one to enjoy. I've ridden a motorcycle to the Iowa MGNOC rallies in this town for the last 15 years. Have never camped in this campground, as we pitched a tent in the City Park.

Elkader, Iowa puts you dangerously close to the world's largest breaded pork tenderloin sandwich in St. Olaf and the might Gunder Burger in Gunder, Iowa.

Michael & JaneAnn (ibthebest) and Margaret & I (AsheGuy) have added a site nomination for consideration as the site for B6 to the b-rally.org web site. We are co-sponsors of this site. Click here to see the site nomination information on the b-rally.org web site. The site is Cottonwoods RV Park in Columbia, Missouri.

We look forward to Nick & Chris checking out their Lake Erie site and adding it to the b-rally.org web page as a second nomination for the location of B6.

We hope there might be at least one more site nomination for B6 before the nominations have to be closed toward the end of August and a vote taken to pick a site for B6.

In order to accommodate the site nomination information on the b-rally.org web site, I have re-organized the site somewhat and there are some rough edges as I have not had as much time today to work on this as I thought I might. I will get the web site cleaned up over the next few days.

Any chance of tweeking the rules in future years to allow the possibility of a western site? I think a "straight-up" vote is always going to favor an Eastern locale. Due to time pressures, it's too late in the process for changes for B6 - but I would like the group to consider the merits of alternating venues - odd number years an eastern locale, even number years a western locale.

The Missouri nomination (thanks Asheguy & ibthebest) is a central locale - so that is another possible solution.

Else, I suspect that many western folks either will never participate, or will form a different event.

Obviously, we will need to get some western locales nominated for this too work - but in a straight up vote - I'm not sure I'd bother to do the work to nominate a site.

Maybe I'll start a separate thread to ask the question of the forum members.

Outside of a straight up vote, how do you propose to get a western site? Just name a western site by fiat?

If most B's live east of the Mississippi, then most times a location will be in the midwest or east.

The western most B Rally held was at Branson, MO. And from Richmond, VA that was a long haul. I probably will not be able to do another trip like that while I'm still working.
