We checked out 2 possible locations near enough to us that we might be able to make work. Both would have been acceptable with one nicer than the other. Neither had anyone in site that could talk about details on the weekends and with Leslie's new job we couldn't go during the week.

I got a reply back from the nicer one that they couldn't accommodate a group our size and apologized. The other still has not replied. The problem in the Washington DC area is most camp grounds are county or state owned and they do not work well for larger groups.

Bob, Leslie & Hart too,

Your area would be a great destination, so much to see, especially for an extended stay. Hopefully you'll hear from the second one and we'll have a fourth nomination.

Ray&Janie sent some more info to add to the Follow The River RV Resort nomination. A couple of links to information on nearby towns/cities and a couple of paragraphs at the bottom related to self-contained RVs and food options. Click here to see the web site. Janie says more information will be added as she gets it.

As you know, no one is in charge here so I will raise the question of when nominations should close and a voting period should begin? I think the voting period last year ran about 3-weeks (Michael, chime in here) so that those traveling could have a chance to vote. It would be good to have the vote complete by mid-September so the chosen site can be locked in for the rally and registration for B6 can be opened in late September.

Other input welcome. Anyone else contemplating a nomination (Bob & Leslie?) should move on it so it can be included.

Well said David. I think last year's system worked very well. Six weeks or so from now we should all know where we're going. Thanks for getting the process started.

Question. Does the campground expect everyone or almost everyone to shower in their B's? Seems like it, when the "loosely" enforced rules require all B's to be self contained and the fact there seems to be only 2 shower stalls available in the women's side of the bathhouse.

Good question. I don't know the answer but I suspect your premise is correct. They, like most campgrounds, never envisioned having up to 50 Bs at their campground at one time. A B rally stresses most campgrounds' shower facilities if most B owners are like us and seldom use (if ever) the on board shower. Bs (and tent campers) are such a low percentage of customers at most private RV parks that their small number of showers (few have more than 4) isn't a factor.

Very well put David. Yes they are geared to self contained but they want us to come and they are more than willing to work with us. Most Class Bs are self contained they just dont always use them.

I thought I would never use mine. One day on our way to SD it was 105 and it was just so awful to go to the hot showers I decided to use it. I use it everyday now we stay out. Thats just us and I know some need the facilities. WE love ours.

This campground is very level and has full hook up water and sewer at the site. Its a short walk to the bath and restroom and its level and no mud like the last few.

I dont know how many use the facilities but that is part of our comparison.

Yes 50 Class Bs are different. The one thing I like is everyone is parked closer so we can walk around and B social.

My memory is not that great but I think we are just a little later than last year. We started the survey about the first of August and we ran it till just after Labor Day although we didn't get that many more responses by waiting the extra time. Three weeks would be about fine.

While we are talking about this, someone needs to step up and take over the responsibility for running the Survey Monkey since I have a site as a co-sponsor. It is not that difficult. If you want to help with this process and didn't know what you could do, step up and I will give you some help getting started.

Just a note, if showers are a concern to those that have or have not been to a rally, our Ohio nomination has very large clean shower rooms, they are also heated as well as air conditioned and. This is not meant to criticize the Indiana nomination, just a little more information for those concerned.

Not to dwell on the subject, but I confirmed with Indian Creek that there are a total of 9 showers each for women and men in two shower houses very close to the area we would be.
