I wonder if Jr has enough money to make an offer? He's the one who should have the most incentive to keep his father's organization alive. But, I don't suppose it would be worth very much, which means he could pick it up for a song. On the other hand, he might not care about it anymore.
IMO Teresa is interested in other ventures (non-racing, probably).

Its a ship that will probably team up with another sinking team to keep afloat. Certainly Jr doesn't want the team to fail, he has way too much to lose with his 49%. But, you wonder about the tension around the Thanksgiving family table.

Jr does not own 49% of TEI and does not have Thankgiving dinner with Teresa.
I thought when all of that stuff was going on, that what goes around comes around and it will usually bite you on the rear. I am thinking she is feeling the bite!

IMO she would've felt a bigger bite if she had caved to what JR wanted. He wanted controlling interest. The satisfaction in owning your own business is that you can call the shots, and she was/is the owner. She knows what she has. She could shut it down and retire, it's not as if she needed the money. It's up to JR to make HIS own fortune, and I suspect that he will.
It is sad to see what is happening in Cup overall, there are a whole lot of empty seats at most of the races, and now I see where GM may be pulling a lot of their support as well.
It is a sign of the times, the bubble may just about be on the verge of bursting......

Jr wanted controlling interest because Theresa doesn't know the first thing about running a race team. The reason DEI doesn't win any more is because the last time any significant R&D was done was when Sr. was alive. Theresa likes to rake in the dough from merchandising and thinks fielding cars with popular drivers (which she doesn't have any more) is good enough. She knows how to run a business but not a race team. Roush, Hendrick, & Gibbs win because they put a lot of money into R&D and into their "farm" systems. Theresa hasn't done that since she's owned the company. Without a race team will (and should) fail.

In this spiraling economy, several teams will shut down. That's all there is to it. Teresa is one of the lucky owners who can differentiate between the passion of racing and the smart way of running a business. She will simply eliminate the costly racing part of the business, and only maintain those ventures which can support themselves. Jr did it his way, Teresa did it her way, Rick Hendrick did it his way, and it's all entertainment to me. Everyone should be happy. I applaud Teresa for her business accument, and I also applaud Jr for striking out on his own, and capitalizing on his good fortune, his legacy.
BTW his driving is improving, he sure drove a smart race last night (Nationwide Series). He might win in the Cup race today.
IMO Teresa knows that she is not Joe Gibbs nor Rick Hendrick nor Jack Roush nor Richard Childress, so why waste millions of dollars trying?
