If you want it to cool down faster put a bag or two of ice in the refrigerator section and a small 12v circulating fan. If I need mine in a hurry I put ice in trays on four shelves and I won't put any room temp foods inside. I keep the door closed and use a wireless remote thermometer to monitor the inside temp. Those little thermometers are just a few bucks at Walmart.

Sounds like the refrigerator is working normally. Takes 24 hours for the entire unit to cool down. Freezer first, then refrigerator.

I think if you give it more time, like 6-8 hours, you will be surprised how low it will go. You can't determine for sure, in such a short time, that you have a problem. Also, make the coach is level.

The freezer is down to 47 degrees, and the refrigerator is still at 81. It's not cooling both sections.

It worked on propane and electric a week ago. It's pretty level in front of my house (where it cooled fine before), but I just put the leveling jacks down to make it perfectly level.

OK, the refrigerator is down to 69 degrees. The freezer is at 27 degrees.

Just a newbie panicking, that's all.

Be sure and pre-cool anything before putting it in your RV fridge if time is a factor, as it is in your case. Putting warm foods & drinks in the fridge will really slow down the cool-down time.

I put a bag of ice and some freezer packs in it and it dropped to 32 degrees.

I'm at Yogi's Camp Luray, and it's staying around 36 degrees if we leave the doors closed. It gets up to 41 when you get stuff out for dinner.

Hey Nick,

You forgot to add the $1.50 internet service sur-charge...

PS Brad, I'll speak for myself, don't worry I've been there. Have a great trip, drive safe and don't forget to have a good time...

Since it's summer try not to open the frig doors too often if possible. These friges don't recover as fast as your home unit...

I just brought my Ventana to the house to get ready for a trip. I started the Norcold refrigerator on LP to cool it down. The freezer is down into the 60s after about an hour, but the refrigerator is still in the 80s.

Any ideas on troubleshooting?

If it's hot outside and your fridge is sitting in a warm (hot) MH....it will take a full day to cool...the freezer is first to cool then the fridge section.....just wait and see....it should be just fine!
have fun on your RV trip!
Wish I was following you!

Here is a hint.....when you get stuff out of the fridge only open one door and close it as fast as possible.....it will stay cooler....also...precool all the food if you can....
We usually put all our beer, soda, and a gallon of water in our HOUSE fridge the night before we leave...The more hot and humid it is outside the harder the fridge works!
Vicki always puts the frozen meat that we cook the first night on a trip in the fridge...it thaws slowly and helps keep it cool while traveling (that was her idea)

I'm probably a little ovet the top with pre cooling the fridge as I will turn it on several days ahead especially this time of year. It take's an insignificant amount of LP per day to run.
