I wouldn't base my decision on a mail service on that. Maybe if I was moving there with kids and planning on staying but for a mail service it wouldn't be on my radar because it wouldn't concern me.

Susan, Some of the offenses date back to 1991. I've reviewed the site in the past, because we have our GD with us every summer. But it hasn't made any difference as to where we park the RV.
I am home all day in the RVP while DH goes to work. I am cautious, always keep the RV locked especially if I'm out walking. But I'm never frightened of being alone. I keep my cell phone on and always have the RVP owner/manager's # as well as DH ready to call in event of an emergency.
Best thing is most RVP's have Sheriff's cars cruising through periodically. Even those that have gates with passkeys. Some officers may even live in the RVP's. Can't feel any safer with that!

I'm still wondering if anyone knows why the numbers are so high for Sioux Falls.
Why Full-Timing? Because at my age, I have maybe 40 more chances to see flowers bloom.

Well Susan where are you FROM !!!
I was raised a few miles north of Sioux Falls and there is not a street I would not walk . In fact we were in there offices last week and the driver license office is across the street .
I lived north of Seattle many years and there are streets I did not walk in the day time . ( Pop 25,000 )
Yes the State Prison is in Sioux Falls.
So what is the big deal .
We have RV Fulltime for 5 years . and been in many place far far worse then SIOUX FALLS

Susan, maybe a call to the police department could get you an answer.
I consider Sioux Falls one of the nicest cities of its size that I've visited. I lived just east of there (Mitchell) for about 6 months. I believe it was listed a couple years ago as one of the most livable cities in the U.S. -- like number one or two I think. I don't know that I'd go THAT far, but it's nice.

How high is high? How many per 100,000 population compared to the other city you are comparing? They are everywhere.

Just maybe Sioux Falls does more than other municipalties when it comes to follow-up, revising address, etc. Maybe the city makes it a priority, more so than other places. Wouldn't bother me the least.

What in the world dose this have to do with full timing????Seems a little off base.
If the number in Sioux Fall has you up set , how many full timers are or were offenders and no way to keep tracked of them. What a great way for them to hide.

The reasons for sex offender status vary: it can be as simple as getting caught peeing in an alley or as heinous as rape and everything in between.
As someone else said, offenders are everywhere. Your best bet is to learn how to not be a victim.
