I have a '95 Sunline T-1950 with a Dometic 2 way refrigerator. We're getting started late this year on camping just so you don't ask the question "did it work before" It did work before, that was last year. I'm prepping the camper and checking that everything is working. When I have electricity to the camper and turn on the refrigerator after it goes through it's start up cycle the "check" light comes on and in a few seconds it trips my breaker in the garage. I've always used my camper extension cord into my garage when working on the camper so I doubt it's the house electric. I do recall once last year there was a hiccup in the refrigerator but I cannot remember exactly it was as it worked fine after that. So I'm just throwing this out there to get things started on solving my issue. If you have any ideas or things I need to check just mention away.

Thank you!

Thanks,
Doug

Did you check to see if the frig will run on propane? This should confirm it's not the circuit board or igniter that is causing the problem.

Ok, I did some testing, sort of. I pulled the plug to the 120V at the refrigerator on the outside of the camper, turned on the refrigerator and manually lit the pilot as it would not ignite. After an hour or so the temp did not change in the refrigerator. Usually I can see condensation on the freezer shelf when it begins to get cold. it did not condense. I then just used battery power and manually lit the refrigerator and within 10 minutes it was getting cold and the condensation was on the freezer shelf and dissipating. I guess so far I've determined the igniter may not be working. Can I test it as in with a multimeter? Anything else to check at this point?

Thanks,

I'm not sure I'm following what you did. You say you unplugged the 120. So you were already on battery power in your 1st test? No clicking means the ignitor is probably shot. To test this, remove the circuit board cover and check the outgoing voltage to the ignitor while the frig is trying to start. If you have about 12v at the leads but no clicking replace the ignitor - about $40.

Initially I was on 120V and then I disconnected it and tried 12V. To your suggestions. To check the igniter. Would I put my negative lead on the grond and the positive on the grey wire terminal at the igniter to check for voltage? I was trying to test by myself today as my wife was not around. I thought I could turn the power on and run to the unit and check the voltage to the igniter but it would go to check in about 5 seconds. It never went to check in that short of a time. What are my options if 1) The igniter has voltage to the terminal? Do I just buy the part that looks like the piazo igniter? 2) If no voltage do I need the new circuit board? Is it easier to just purchase a board and not waste time or could it be other things? I am getting gas since I can manually light the burner. Here are some picture of my unit.

Thanks,
