As mentioned, Buckeye Lake KOA is at exit 129A (Col's is around exit 100 so it's less than an hour from Col's. Just north of I-70, in the Granville, OH area is the Lazy River at Granville campground. It is a Good Sam Park with a stream, a heated pool, big rig sites, WiFi and most of the regular activities. It has less than 200 sites with some seasonal campers. Trailer Life rates it at 9/9.5/9 out of 10 in each category. The campground is north of Granville off State Route 661 about 4.5 miles to Dry Creek Road and then go East about a mile. They have 115 sites with elec. & water and 75 with sewer. Granville and Newark have plenty of activities and Columbus isn't that far away. Their phone number is 740.366.4385. Good luck.

Granville is one of my thoughts as I don't really mean Columbus proper. I just thought the area would be a nice to breakup the trip to Chillicothe. If I remember KOA cost more. I just found a listing on state parks and I guess my choice will be determined by price and availability. I was just wondering if anyone knew of anything else. By the way I forgot to mention I need pet friendly.
we will be staying the month of September in a campground in Lancaster, Ohio. Stoneridge is the name I believe. My husband drove past it last time up there, stopped and talked to the owner who was really nice. We're moving from Dallas to Ohio and need a home base while building. Winter in florida, rest of the year, Ohio, Texas, TN.
